21th INTERNATIONAL SECURITY & FIRE EXHIBITION
11th International Exhibition and Conference for Non-Destructive Testing and Technical Diagnostics
About exhibition
SFITEX, the largest International Security and Fire exhibition in the North West of Russia, which takes place in St Petersburg, on 15-18 November 2011, is now entering its 20th edition. For the past 19 years, SFITEX has built a reputation as an established industry event, at which leading domestic and international companies present the latest equipment, technology and developments in almost every area of the security industry.
As Russia is hosting two upcoming international sporting events, the Winter Olympics in 2014 and the World Cup in 2018, security has come to the forefront of the Russian government’s attention. The January 2011 suicide bombing at Moscow's Domodedovo airport demonstrated the need for investment and planning for this area.

SFITEX comes 6 months after MIPS (the Moscow International Exhibition for Systems and Technologies of Protection, Security and Fire Safety) which takes place in April. For companies who are unable to attend MIPS, SFITEX provides the opportunity to meet their target audience and showcase their products to the Russian and Eastern European markets. Visitors attend from all regions of Russia (168 cities in 2009). SFITEX differs from MIPS in terms of its location, providing more access to the Russian North Western market as well as covering Baltic and Scandinavian regions. There is the regular participation of international companies, including Axis, Urmeet group, Xtralis ltd, Geutebrueck, Panasonic, Honeywell, Siemens, Sony, Tyco, Abloy Oy, and others.
New to 2011, a unique specialised part of the exhibition, IS.CS – Information Security, Counter Surveillance, and banking security, will be collocated with SFITEX in recognition of the growth to these industry sectors. IS.CS offers a similar profile to CARDEX, which focuses on these products within MIPS. A comprehensive business programme takes place alongside the exhibition, that covers all the main sectors of the exhibition, including Security Technology; Fire Safety and Emergency Rescue Equipment; Road and Traffic Safety; and Information Security/Counter Surveillance.
SFITEX is proud to have the official support of government bodies, including the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Office of the Federal Security Service for St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region; and the Ministry for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters.
